Four children and two adults seriously injured in accident outside Kristianstad

A car and an excavator collided, and the car is reported to have driven into a trailer pulled by the excavator, says police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.

The alarm about the accident in Tollarp went out at 5:18 p.m. on Friday, and six ambulances were sent to the scene.

Olsson states that everyone in the car was taken to hospital.

According to Region Skåne, the condition of a 35-year-old woman is critical. A 35-year-old man has serious injuries. The same applies to three boys aged between two and ten and a girl aged 10 to 14.

The road was closed during the rescue and clean-up work, which caused major traffic disruptions, but at 7 p.m. it was reopened to traffic in both directions.

We are finished at the scene, and the car has been towed, says Olsson.

The car has been seized for a technical examination. A preliminary investigation into negligence in traffic has been opened to investigate the circumstances, according to the police.

The excavator driver is physically unharmed.
