In total, twelve people were in the helicopter when it crashed in the Maduru Oya reservoir in eastern Sri Lanka on Friday. The remaining passengers, apart from the dead, survived with only minor injuries.
The helicopter was participating in a military display at the event. Just before the crash, the military personnel were preparing to lower themselves from the helicopter via a rope when something went wrong.
The cause behind the crash is still unclear.
Maduru Oya is located about 28 miles from the capital Colombo.
