Both children are under five years old, says Magnus Schildt, duty officer at the police.
The police were alerted to the scene of the accident just before 21:30 on Sunday evening, after a vehicle for unknown reasons had come over in the wrong direction and collided with an oncoming car.
A man and the two small children were traveling in one car, three people in their 20s in the other. The extent of the injuries is unclear.
All six people involved have been taken to hospital, so we'll see if the picture of the injuries becomes clearer during the night or possibly in the morning, says Magnus Schildt.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into gross drunk driving, gross negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm. Both cars have been seized for technical examination.
