The presidents of the federations of Qatar, Morocco, Egypt, Mauritania, Sudan and Lebanon express their "full support" for Infantino and reaffirm their "confidence in his leadership," they write, according to Reuters.
Qatar and Lebanon are part of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which, like the European Football Association (UEFA) and the Confederation of North and Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), wants Infantino replaced as president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) after the Swiss's now-scrapped plans to sell shares of the World Cup to private investors.
The African Football Confederation (Caf) has stated that it supports Infantino for re-election in March next year.
