On June 14, 2023, two women attempted to glue themselves to the glass protecting the Monet painting "The Artist's Garden" at the National Museum.

The women who carried out the action belonged to the group "Restore Wetlands". Together with four other people, they are now being prosecuted for vandalism, reports Magasin K. Prosecutor Lucas Eriksson confirms the prosecution to TT.

The four other people are said to have prepared and documented the action.

Of course, it's an unusual event, it's what stands out. It's probably the only case I'm aware of in Sweden, says prosecutor Lucas Eriksson to Magasin K.

The painting was examined after the action, but no damage could be detected.
