Siw Malmkvist is at the center of a new feature film by Stina Gardell and Frida Neema Järnbert. The film "Siw" will have its cinema premiere on September 5.
"When they said they wanted to make a biopic about me, I was completely shocked. About me?! Why that? Who would want to see it? But now that they've followed me for almost a year, it actually feels pretty cool!", says Siw Malmkvist in a press release.
In the film, they visit places and people who have played important roles for the 88-year-old artist – who by now has a 70-year-long career behind her.
Malmkvist is, among other things, known for the song "Augustin" which she won Melodifestivalen with in 1959 and has, in addition to her achievements in Sweden, also achieved successes primarily in Germany and Italy.
