Sirius finished in ninth place in the top division last season, but the decision is not due to poor results.
"For us, it is important to continue developing and taking steps in the right direction. Here, we feel that there are areas for improvement in the daily work, which we have also had an ongoing dialogue with Christer about over the past two years," says the men's team manager Jonathan Ederström on the club's website.
Christer Mattiasson has been the head coach of Sirius for two years and had one year left on the contract. The two years are described as successful.
"As always when we make important decisions, it ultimately comes down to doing what we believe is best for Sirius football," says Ederström.
