At Örjans vall in Halmstad, there was never any doubt about the outcome. Centre-back Tobias Anker headed in the 1-0 goal for the Uppsala side after just 14 minutes. Two minutes later, Isak Bjerkebo made it 2-0 from the penalty spot - the top scorer's 11th goal of the Swedish football season.
"It was practically over after their second goal. When they score their second goal, the game is not over, but in retrospect, it came as close to 1-2 as we had hoped," HBK coach Stuart Baxter told TV4 Play.
“Fantastic football match”
There were no more goals in the match, but Sirius continued to dominate the game. League leader Robbie Ure tried several times, without much success. HBK never created any chances that threatened the away team's lead.
"We have a chance to finish third, fourth, fifth and sixth, it feels like. Apart from a few bad decisions in transition situations, I think we are playing a fantastically good match," Castegren told TV4 Play.
Leading by 14 points
The last time Sirius lost an Allsvenskan match was on September 29 last year. That was 8-2 against Djurgården away from home. This year, all other teams in the Allsvenskan have now had one go each, but no one has managed to take three points.
Häcken and reigning champions Mjällby came closest, both of whom had to settle for a draw.
Monday's victory means that Sirius now leads the Swedish league by a full 14 points ahead of second-place Hammarby.
"You can look at a table in round 30, because that's when it matters. You should try to stay focused on what matters, and that's the next training session and the next match," says Castegren.
It sounds very boring, but so far it has been successful.
For Halmstads BK, the situation looks much more difficult. The Halmstad team remains last in the table, six points behind Örgryte in the qualifying place.
