Sirius got off to a dream start in Gothenburg when captain Henrik Castegren gave the Uppsala side the lead after just seven minutes. Örgryte then stepped up their game and had several good chances towards the end of the first half, but Sirius held on.
In the second half, the teams took turns missing chances, and in the 62nd minute Victor Svensson extended the lead to 2-0. The match ended 2-1 after a late home penalty.
It's sad to lose. We're playing a good match, but they're damn skilful, says Sebastian Lagerlund in TV4 Play.
The victory means that league leaders Sirius put pressure on Djurgården and Hammarby in the Allsvenskan title race. They are ten and eleven points behind respectively in the table. The Stockholm side has played one fewer match.
