The reigning league leaders took the lead in Uppsala after five minutes when Mohammed Soumah scored from close range to make it 1-0. A quarter of an hour later, Robbie Ure doubled the lead after a well-executed counterattack. The goal was the top scorer's 16th of the season in Allsvenskan.
"Blue and White" coach Stefan Billborn made four changes to the starting line-up. Sam Larsson started, and Viktor Andersson got the chance between the posts instead of Elis Bishesari. Towards the end of the first half, Larsson reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, but the away team did not get any closer than that at Studenternas.
Sirius were a couple of levels better and won the match 4-1.
"We get off to a good start and score two goals. We know we are dangerous when we get in behind their back line. But Gothenburg is a good team, even if the table doesn't show it," Sirius coach Andreas Engelmark said.
