After 20 minutes of play, Sirius were awarded a penalty, but Isak Bjerkebo's spot kick was weak and was saved by Isak Pettersson.
The match remained 0–0 for a long time before centre-back Mohamed Soumah broke the deadlock with a header from a corner.
Two minutes later, Robbie Ure added another goal for Sirius, becoming the team's all-time top scorer in the Swedish league.
"It's cool. It was in the back of my mind and I'm very happy about it," Ure tells TV4.
Elfsborg reduced the deficit in the 88th minute, but Ure was quick to score his second goal of the match to make it 3–1, after Sebastian Holmén slipped and lost the ball.
The main contender in the title race, Hammarby, beat Degerfors 4–0. Third-placed Häcken beat Halmstad 2–0.
