Benjegård followed up her European Championship debut on Sunday in Ljubljana by losing in straight sets to Romania’s Bianca Mei Rosu. The Swede started well and led 6–2 in the first set, but then the match turned.
"I didn't get my game going the way I wanted. We've met before, and she knew more about how to play against me," says Benjegård.
Swedes Nomin Baasan, 22, and Angelina Bebawy, 16, will also miss the main draw of the European Championship singles after losing both matches in their respective qualifying groups.
