Italian Jannik Sinner did the same as last year. He won every match, every set – and took victory in the ATP finals in Turin. The final against world number one Carlos Alcaraz ended 7–6 (7–4), 7–5.

With the victory in Turin, Italy, the 24-year-old world number two has won 31 straight indoor matches, his last loss coming in the ATP Finals final against Novak Djokovic two years ago.

Since then, as I said, he has excelled in the playoffs.

Last year he went straight through the tournament without losing a set.

This year he repeated the feat.

Not even world number one Carlos Alcaraz, Spain, could stop the defending champion's pursuit of victory. The first set was indeed close and dramatic, and it was only in the tiebreak that Sinner got a grip on the final. An advantage he did not let go, securing the victory in straight sets.
