Songwriter and singer Maud Lindström is awarded the Swedish Song Prize because with her "uncontrived voice she gains direct access to the listener's inner self".

Maud Lindström, who debuted in 2005 with "Strategivisor för kärlekskritiker", has "become known for her straightforward approach, her humor and her courage to put words to both everyday life and society", states the jury's motivation according to a press release.

The Swedish Song Prize has been awarded by the Swedish National Song Association since 2007. Previous award winners include Carin Kjellman, Jan Hammarlund, Jejja Sundström and Pierre Ström.

The National Association's Young Artist Scholarship goes this year to Dante Lärka, songwriter and poet.
