Singer and Grammy winner Duncan Sheik dies aged 56

Sheik released his debut album in 1996 and is best known for the hit song "Barely Breathing", which was nominated for a Grammy.

In the early 2000s, he shifted his focus to Broadway composition and in 2006 wrote the musical "Spring Awakening", which won both a Tony Award and a Grammy.

The cause of death was reported to have been cardiac arrest. Duncan Sheik was 56 years old.
