Cloud communication company Sinch reports an adjusted operating result (ebitda) of 869 million kronor for the second quarter. This was a better result than market expectations, which were at 814 million kronor according to Bloomberg.

During the second quarter last year, this profit measure was at 867 million.

Net sales fell to 6.6 billion, down from 7.0 billion a year earlier. This decline was slightly larger than expected. The average forecast was at 6.7 billion, according to Bloomberg.

"It is certainly positive that our gross margin has improved, but over time, robust sales growth is crucial for continued profit growth", says CEO Laurinda Pang in a comment in the report.

She describes the macroeconomic situation as uncertain.

"We therefore remain cautious when it comes to short-term expectations and continue to manage costs with vigilance", she says in the report.
