Police write on their website that the parrot appears to be doing well, that it wants contact albeit not physical, and that it is quiet.
The parrot was taken into police custody because its owner, a woman in her 30s, is suspected of a crime and it had no relatives or friends to take it in.
Police were called to an address in Norrköping during the night after the woman, who was a guest in the home for unclear reasons, began throwing things around - including the parrot's cage.
The woman is suspected of violent resistance and a minor drug offense. According to police, a report of animals in danger may also be filed.
