March is almost over. A new electricity bill will soon be arriving. And for households in Norrland, it will be a real relief, from a monthly price in January and February of almost 1 SEK/kWh to around 20 öre in March.
In Svealand and northern Götaland (electricity area 3), it is almost halved, to around 60 öre, according to the electricity exchange Nord Pool.
But in electricity area 4, southern Sweden, the price drop is smaller, from 1.13 SEK/kWh in the first winter months to around 85 öre in March. Here, prices are kept up by skyrocketing gas prices on the continent.
The prices refer to the vast majority of households that have a variable monthly price. On top of the exchange price, there is electricity tax, VAT and an electricity network fee of over one krona/kWh.
