The author, director, and podcaster Sigge Eklund lost his home in the extensive fires in Los Angeles last winter. Now, after several months in a rented apartment without furniture, his family has decided to leave the city.
It feels exciting and scary, he says to Aftonbladet.
The move this summer goes to the other side of the USA, to New York.
The fire was the last drop and we had talked about New York already before, he says.
He describes the time after the fire as a period "in shock", where he was constantly reminded of things that were destroyed.
It can be a crap thing you bought at a market during a trip or a photo on the wall, all those things that make a home.
