The case has received a lot of attention, not least because the 38-year-old, who worked in home care, was sentenced to prison but not deported. This has angered several politicians, including Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
The reason the juror is now suspended is that he openly stated that he wanted the man to be deported and that the deliberations were leaning towards that. He is also said to have criticized the district court's assessment, according to Aftonbladet.
"He has been reported to the police for breach of confidentiality," says the attorney general in a comment to the newspaper.
