A high-class bicycle kick in a snowstorm. David Rodríguez put on a show as he ensured Ottawa won the Canadian Premier League final at home against Cavalary.

But it wasn't the 23-year-old – who scored both goals in the 2-1 victory – who came into focus after the final.

Instead, it was the snowstorm that stole the headlines.

The match in Canada's capital was played on a snow-covered pitch with strong winds whipping the players in the face. The conditions resulted in the game being delayed for 20 minutes and also interrupted several times as snow needed to be shoveled from the pitch. Ottawa goalie Nathan Ingham was among those who grabbed a shovel to help.
