"A person was shot on one of our buses while it was stationary at the bus stop," says Sophie Gunnarsson at SL's press service to TT.

The injured person has been identified, but for privacy reasons police are not releasing any details. The perpetrator fled the scene.

Only one person was reportedly hit by the shots, but several people witnessed the incident.

"Many people are shocked," says police spokesman Daniel Wikdahl.

Taken care of

The 20 or so people on board have been taken care of outside the bus. The bus driver is one of them and has also been taken care of by the police.

It was the driver who alerted his employer Nobina about the incident, and the company alerted the police, says Sophie Gunnarsson.

The driver has been removed from service.

"I don't know how he's feeling," says Sophie Gunnarsson.

Schools evacuated

There are several schools in the area. Among them are a high school with 500 students, several preschools and an elementary school. Initially, all schools in the municipality were evacuated when an alarm was raised about a shooting at a school.

Martin Widholm, head of school at Tyresö municipality, told TT at 5 p.m. that all schools have been evacuated, but that students 'who need urgent support' remain.

"A lot of students have seen what happened," says Martin Widholm.

The police say they are cooperating with the schools and the municipality.

"There is a collection point nearby where people who feel unwell or are otherwise affected by what has happened can be taken care of," says Daniel Wikdahl.

The bus was on its way from the center of Tyresö to Rudsjöterrassen in Handen in Haninge municipality.

According to Sophie Gunnarsson, traffic in the area is being affected by police roadblocks.
