A home in Upplands Väsby, outside Stockholm, was shot at several times on Monday night. No one was injured, but the police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.

We received several calls at 00:48 in which callers reported hearing shots that appeared to come from firearms, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the Stockholm Police.

When a patrol arrived at the scene, bullet holes were found in a residence in a row of townhouses in Upplands Väsby.

Several people were in the home but no one was injured, says Per Fahlström.

The location has been cordoned off pending a technical examination and the police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses.

We are working to find the perpetrators while carrying out investigative measures such as interviewing witnesses and checking any cameras, says Per Fahlström.
