A man has been shot in Frösunda. He has been taken to hospital, police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas tells TT.

The man is an adult and the extent of his injuries is unclear. No one has been arrested.

It is unclear whether the shooting took place indoors or outdoors. The alarm was raised at 10:58 a.m.

Intensive work is underway at the scene, police say.

Employees at offices near the square have reportedly been asked by the police to stay indoors while the operation is underway. One of them says there are cordons and police on the square.

"It's scary. This is not an area you would think of as dangerous," he says.

He saw an ambulance leave the scene with a police escort.

We are not allowed to go out until further notice.
