Shots have been fired at a residence in Segeltorp in Huddinge, south of Stockholm, the police report.
A person is said to have been seen running from the scene, but no one has been arrested. No one has been injured either.
We have an ongoing search effort underway with, among other things, dog patrols. Some people have been taken in for questioning but are not suspected of any crime, but rather it is in order to gather more information, says the police's press spokesperson Anna Westberg.
The police are investigating attempted murder and serious weapons offenses.
The alarm came in at 19:30.
