Since 2022, the shootings in Sweden have decreased year by year. So far this year, 84 shootings have occurred in Sweden, which is a decrease from 148 shootings during the same period in 2024.
The statistics for shootings in 2025 include the school attack in Örebro where ten people were killed.
On the other hand, the explosions are increasing. During the first half of 2025, 104 explosions occurred, compared to 52 explosions during the same period last year, according to the half-year statistics.
The police have increased the clearance rate of deadly violence in network environments from around 20-30 percent to around 60 percent in recent years.
"It is a part of the explanation for why we see fewer shootings," says August Knutsson, operational coordinator at the police's national operations center in a press release on the police's website.
