Police were alerted at 5:20 p.m. to gunshots outside in a residential area in Fagersjö, and patrols were sent to the scene.
A man in his 20s was found there with a gunshot wound and was conscious when the patrol arrived. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
"He is very seriously injured, but we don't know more than that right now," says Per Fahlström, press spokesman for the police.
As of 2:30 a.m., no one had been arrested.
"We have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder, but no one is in custody at the moment. We have checked several people and a police operation is underway in the area where we are interviewing witnesses and checking camera footage and knocking on doors," says Per Fahlström.
