The alarm about the shooting came shortly after midnight. One person was arrested in connection with the crime scene and is suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offenses.

Initially, it was unclear how many were injured, but by 4 am, the police announced that only one person was injured. Later, the police stated that the injured person was the suspected perpetrator.
According to the NU healthcare press service, the person was taken to Norra Älvsborgs County Hospital (Näl) in Trollhättan and was assessed to have minor injuries.
The police initially launched a comprehensive operation and pursued several possible perpetrators. By 4 am, the police announced that the operation had been scaled down. However, the investigative work at the crime scene continues.
According to the police, there may be a gang connection behind the shooting.
