For an unknown reason, a man opened fire in Midland, about five hours from Dallas, Texas, and then barricaded himself in a veterinarian's office.
The man remained locked there for over two hours before the police announced that he had died, without stating how.
At least four of the injured have undergone surgery. There is no information on their condition.
