A man in his 20s has life-threatening injuries and a man in his 25s is seriously injured, reports Region Skåne on its website.

The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into attempted murder. As of 21:30, no one had been arrested.

We are scaling down the pursuit phase and increasingly moving into the investigation phase, said police spokesperson Leif Fransson to TT at 18:00.

We have conducted checks on individuals and vehicles in and around Eslöv, and since then we have held numerous witness interviews, which is what we are working from now.

Earlier in the afternoon, Fransson said:

As it looks now, we are working on the hypothesis that it is a lone perpetrator.

The alarm about the shooting came at 15:07. One man was shot indoors in a residential building and the other outdoors.

I have understood that the shootings took place in close proximity to each other, said Fransson.

A large part of Västerlånggatan, which runs through central Eslöv, was cordoned off in connection with a larger operation.

It happened in the middle of the day and fairly centrally, as there are a lot of people moving around, said Leif Fransson.
