According to authorities, the shooter opened fire in at least two locations in central Athens on Tuesday.
First, one person was injured when the shooter fired shots at a social services office. The shooter then moved to a nearby courthouse where he opened fire on the ground floor. Several more people were injured in the courthouse, at least three of whom were reportedly taken to hospital.
Greek media reports that the suspect is a man in his 90s. He is reported to have thrown wads of paper and envelopes inside the courthouse during the shooting.
The man, who remains at large, was armed with a shotgun, according to police. The weapon has been found and seized by police.
