Another 14-year-old arrested for Kungsbacka shooting

The boy has been taken into custody by social services and the police do not rule out that more people may be involved in the shooting at the shopping center in Kungsbacka.

There will be many questions initially in the information gathering, where a lot of things come up that need to be checked, says Thomas Fuxborg.

A boy – also 14 years old – is already suspected of two cases of attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses.

"Fired a shot"

The boy is suspected of shooting a 25-year-old man and of also firing a shot during the arrest at the shopping center where a large number of people were present.

When he tried to flee, he was caught in a revolving door after a woman pressed the emergency stop, a witness told Kungsbacka-Posten.

This guy fired a shot and shot at me from inside the entrance revolving door, but it didn't hit. I never got scared because I still thought it was a toy gun, she said to the newspaper on Monday.

Known to the police

According to the police, there is no current threat against the shopping center in Kungsbacka or other shopping centers in the region.

The condition of the shot man is stable. He is still being treated in hospital. One of the leads the police are now investigating is whether the incident can be linked to gang crime.

It's quite likely. The plaintiff is anyway known to the police since before and the investigation suggests that he was the target of this shooting, says local police area chief Johanna Hennix to P4 Halland.

Correction: In an earlier version, an incorrect crime classification appeared for one of the arrested boys. Correct is that he is suspected of aiding and abetting attempted murder.
