"It should not be a goal, and it is deeply regrettable that it is wrong. It is permissible to screen at the top of the goal area for a short, limited time if you are in motion. However, situations where you as an attacking player are clearly in the goal area, obstruct the goalkeeper and are there when the shot is taken should not be a goal, as it was in this case," says Tomas Thorsbrink, head of refereeing in the SHL.

Malmö coach Tomas Kollar was furious immediately after the decision in the first round of the hockey playoffs at Hovet.

"I was one hundred percent sure it could never be approved. It's impossible," he said at the press conference after the match.

Anton Frondell scored Djurgården's winning goal, but David Blomgren was standing in the goal area in front of Malmö's goalkeeper Oskar Blomgren when the shot was taken.
