Shiffrin had a very strong first run, and despite a weaker second run, she finished 1.32 seconds ahead of Swiss Wendy Holdener. Third place went to Sundsvall-born Emma Aicher, who competes for Germany, 1.36 seconds behind Shiffrin.
Despite the victory, 31-year-old Shiffrin will have to wait to secure her sixth overall World Cup title. Aicher's third place means that there is an 85-point difference between Shiffrin and Aicher in the overall standings, and it will all be decided in Wednesday's giant slalom - the final race of the Alpine World Cup season.
The best Swede was Anna Swenn-Larsson in sixth place, 2.28 seconds behind Shiffrin. Sara Hector was 1.20 seconds slower and finished seventh.
