Mikaela Shiffrin took her second straight slalom victory this season. The American won by a full 1.23 seconds ahead of the talented Lara Colturi, Albania. Sara Hector finished eighth.

An injury stopped Mikaela Shiffrin for almost the entire last season. Now she has proven that she is back in earnest after a fourth place in the giant slalom premiere and then a victory in the Levi slalom premiere – which she followed up with another major victory in Gurgl, Austria on Sunday.

In Levi she won by 1.66 seconds, in Gurgl by 1.23 seconds.

The victory was her 103rd in the World Cup.

Lara Colturi, a 19-year-old Italian competing for Albania, was second behind Shiffrin after the first run and Swiss Camille Rast was third.

The order after the second run remained the same.

Sara Hector came in eighth place and Anna Swenn-Larsson in tenth. Hanna Aronsson Elfman also made it down in the second run and finished in 20th place. Estelle Alphand crashed out.
