The French film star Juliette Binoche will be the one leading the jury in this year's edition of the film festival in Cannes, which takes place in May.
The 60-year-old veteran with films like "The English Patient" and Lasse Hallström-directed "Chocolat" on her CV takes over the baton after "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig, who acted as jury president last year.
"In 1985, I stepped up the stairs for the first time with the enthusiasm and uncertainty of a young actress," says Binoche in a statement, referring to her first experience from the classic festival, and continues:
"I could never have dreamed that I would return 40 years later in the honorable role as president of the jury."
The festival takes place on May 13-24.
