Sharp increase in arson attacks last year, police survey finds

In 2024, the number of completed or attempted arson attacks was 104. Last year, it increased to 182.

While strategic violence, which includes arson attacks and bombings, increased last year, the number of fatal shootings decreased.

Most arson attacks occurred in the metropolitan regions and in the Eastern Police Region, especially in Norrköping.
