The Colombian artist is on her first world tour in seven years, with almost 50 performances planned in Latin America until June, followed by more concerts in the USA and Canada.

"During the work of setting up the show, which was planned for February 24, the stage roof was damaged, which poses a risk to the artist's safety," the organizer wrote on social media on Friday.

The company added that they hope to be able to rebook the concert, which was to take place at Atanasio Girardot Stadium in Medellín.

Shakira was forced to postpone a performance in Peru earlier in February at short notice. The reason was a hernia that forced the singer to seek medical attention.

The Colombian superstar launched her world tour, which has been named "Las mujeres ya no lloran" (Women No Longer Cry), in Brazil last week and will continue with more performances in South America before concerts in over ten cities in North America.
