The decision to overturn the tax authority's previous decision on multi-million-euro fines was made in a Spanish court, according to documents seen by the AFP news agency.
The dispute concerns the Colombian star's taxes for 2011. The authority had claimed that Shakira was a tax resident in Spain, a claim the court has now ruled was incorrect.
The tax refund is just over 55 million euros, which corresponds to approximately 604 million Swedish kronor. The court also ruled that Shakira will receive statutory interest on the amount.
