The ship had been given the go-ahead to leave Trelleborg, but the Swedish Transport Agency then discovered that the newly presented documents were also suspected to be false. Previous documents showed that the ship was registered in the Comoros. The new documents claim that the ship is registered in Cameroon.
During the detention hearing, the man denied the crime.
The ship is on the EU sanctions list and is suspected of belonging to the Russian shadow fleet.
