The Spanish singer was reported to the police by two women - a housekeeper and a physiotherapist - who claim they were sexually assaulted and forced to work in slave-like conditions in Iglesias' residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas in 2021.
After reviewing the indictment, Spanish prosecutors believe they cannot open an investigation because the women are foreigners who do not live in Spain and the accused is also abroad.
According to the prosecutors, however, there is nothing to prevent the women from filing their complaint in "countries fully competent to investigate the allegations."
Julio Iglesias, 82, denies any wrongdoing.
