Three million liters of sewage water leaked in the spring into Snäckviken on Gotland. This is evident from a deviation report that Helagotland has taken part of.
The leak occurred between March 15 and May 7 and was due to a blockage in the pipes to a pumping station. Since the pump's own system did not alert about the leak, it took time before the blockage was detected.
When the region finally got knowledge of the incident, it was flushed clean at the well and pipe.
The latest water sample, taken on June 10, showed that the water was suitable. Helagotland has sought Region Gotland for a comment.
