Sevilla coach Matias Almeyda is suspended after his red card in last weekend's La Liga match against Alavés. The Argentine was previously coached by Sven-Göran Eriksson at Lazio.

After Matías Almeyda was sent off for protesting, the 52-year-old football coach went onto the field and scolded the referee.

The Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee has suspended the coach for seven matches for, among other things, "contemptuous attitude."

Matías Almeyda was previously coached by Sven-Göran Eriksson when Almeyda played at Lazio.

When "Svennis" became seriously ill with cancer, he was praised by Almeyda.

One of the best coaches I've had, Almeyda said in a clip to Sportbladet.
