Heavy rain and flooding are expected to hit the south and Midwest again in the USA – which have already been affected by severe storms and deadly tornadoes in recent days.
In the state of Kentucky, a 9-year-old boy died when he was swept away by floodwater on his way to the school bus, according to Governor Andy Beshear on Friday.
In the states of Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas, a state of emergency was declared for seven different cities on Friday evening due to the flooding.
Earlier in the week, entire residential areas were destroyed by tornadoes, killing at least seven people.
