Over 80,000 people have been forced to leave their homes due to flooding in southwestern China. Large parts of the country have recently been affected by severe heatwaves in some areas and rainy weather in others.
On Tuesday afternoon, more than 80,000 inhabitants had been evacuated in the province of Guizhou, reports the state news agency New China. The state television channel CCTV shows pictures of extensive flooding that has put communities under water.
Last week, tens of thousands of people were evacuated in the province of Hunan, due to extensive rainy weather, and nearly 70,000 were recently evacuated in southern China due to severe flooding caused by the typhoon Wutip.
