At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday a car went off Highway 83 and struck a tree in Söderhamn municipality. A total of four people were traveling in the car, two of whom were children, the police said on their website. Two of the people have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
At 1 p.m., an alarm was raised about a head-on collision between two vehicles just north of Söderhamn, with several people reportedly seriously injured.
Police urge everyone traveling in traffic to exercise great caution and reduce speed.
