The shooting occurred on Saturday afternoon, local time, when a person opened fire in a commercial area in the city of Twin Falls.
According to police, the suspected shooter was killed in the incident. The total number of fatalities has not yet been determined, but according to CNN, at least three people are believed to have been killed. Several others are also reported to have been injured.
"It was a very chaotic situation," Matthew Hicks of the police told the AP.
The motive and identity of the suspected shooter are under investigation, police said.
