At least three people have been killed when Russian missiles hit the small town of Balakliya in northeastern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Images distributed by the Ukrainian military show shattered apartment buildings and fires. By morning, authorities had counted three dead and about ten injured.
Balaklija is located in the Kharkiv region, sixty to seventy kilometers southeast of the city of Kharkiv in the direction of the front line in eastern Ukraine.
On Monday morning, there were reports of extensive Russian drone attacks in several frontline regions in Ukraine.
