"It is believed to have started in an apartment. The fire is believed to be concentrated in that apartment, and as it stands now, we have the fire under control," says Jonas Eriksson, alarm and control officer at the rescue service.
Police, emergency services and ambulance personnel are working at the scene. The entire building has been evacuated.
"A number of people have been taken away by ambulance from the scene," says Ola Olsson, police officer on duty.
The extent of the injuries to the people is unclear. The incident is being investigated as arson.
"We will close the area when the extinguishing work is complete. Then we will carry out various investigative measures: there will be a technical examination and interviews with those who were on site, and so on," says Ola Olsson.
