A total of around 70 flights to and from Arlanda are delayed, and so far 17 departures have been cancelled.
Departures and arrivals have also been delayed at Landvetter, involving around ten trips.
SMHI's warnings for snowfall are valid until Sunday and air traffic at Arlanda is believed to be affected this weekend as well.
We assess that the traffic situation over the weekend will be the same as today (Friday), with delays that may occur as a result of the snowstorm, says Charlie Forsberg, Director of Communications at Swedavia.
The storm is also causing havoc on the continent. At Schiphol outside Amsterdam, one of Europe's largest airports, a large number of flights were canceled on Friday and hundreds more are expected to be canceled in the coming 24 hours.
